Green credentials
Eurexpo is aware of the need to integrate into the local community and adopts a thoughtful, conscientious approach to managing environmental impact.
In the framework of our Quality, Safety and Environment procedures, we have already obtained ISO 9001 certification (quality - awarded in 2008), and are now working towards obtaining OHSAS 18001 (safety) and ISO 14001 (environment) certification by 2010.
We consider protecting the environment extremely important and have appointed Veolia Propreté to handle all the waste produced on the site, and hence manage the entire process.
- 2,400 tonnes of waste were thus collected and sorted in 2007 at Eurexpo Lyon and specialist centres (for example, 280 tonnes of wood and 180 tonnes of carpet were sorted directly on-site in 2007). About 40% of this waste will be recycled.
- Through our exhibitor’s department we also offer each exhibitor an individual waste collection service.
- Another commitment we have made is to offer exhibition organisers who appoint us to set up a complete event the option of building all stands and furniture out of recyclable cardboard. This will be the case at the Communiquez Textile show, taking place from 23 to 25 January 2008.
- When considering major redevelopment works on our grounds and facilities, protecting the environment and using renewable resources (solar panels, etc.) are always major concerns.
