CCI & GL EVENTS

The governance of Eurexpo Lyon underwent profound change in December 2006, with a two-fold objective :

  • Supporting the growth of Eurexpo Lyon, in line with the major changes that are taking place in the events market, and ensuring its long-term survival
  • Guaranteeing full continuity of service to underpin the economic influence of Lyon and its surrounding area

The Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry is now the majority shareholder of Eurexpo Lyon (SEPEL), holding 53% of its capital, and the remaining 47% is held by Gl Events.

The company’s shareholder agreement gives the Lyon CCI guaranteed oversight since it chairs the supervisory committee. A Lyon CCI representative is also a permanent invited member of SEPEL’s board of directors.

The GL Events group chairs the board of directors and manages Eurexpo Lyon. The group has also increased to 95% its stake in the capital of SepelCom, which organises fairs and exhibitions, with SEPEL retaining a 5% stake.
